Raccoons and the Hazelnuts

Raccoons around here show up and disappear.
Once, three of them lay heavily on hazelnut branches
by our kitchen window, eating nuts straight off the tree.

The aim of this site is to offer earth poems to those who might want them, to share depth soundings and release songs into the mix of electrical current traveling faster than we might know around the planet, to question and explore, and perhaps to connect in unknown or known ways. Poems consisting of imagery have music in them and paintings. They sometimes feel as if they grow between us, like sumac trees or native squirrels, unashamed, eager to live. They don't need to be about the writer but can be rooted in states of feeling, concern, or mind.

New poems will appear here as posts a couple of times a week, and the selection of additional pages will grow to include work by others and a bit of information about the planet.
